Dear Caila - 3 months
Dear Caila,
You are officially 3 month old today! I can’t believe how
much you have changed in just 3 short months. Yes, you are still fussy at times
(mostly due to gas) but when you are well-rested, you are so happy! You love
bouncing in your bouncer and talking to your stuff animals. Though you haven’t
quite figured out rolling over or grasping yet, you are trying.
Because I want to be honest here, I have to admit the
following:
1.
I don’t do as much tummy time with you as I
probably should. You don’t like it too much and there is such a small window
between each feed (every 2 hrs) that sometime I just want to keep you happy
2.
Sometime I mourn for my previous life. I LOVE
you SOOO much but I guess only now am I realizing that I can’t just go out or
do whatever I want anymore. Things like going to Target or even driving 10min
to Costco takes planning. We try to leave when you are well-fed and well-burped
and I always worry that I forgot something for you. I think most new moms feels this at some point
but in no way does it subtract from how blessed I feel to have you in my life.
3.
Gosh some nights are hard. You have good nights
where you are asleep by 8 and up at 1am, then 4 or 5am before you wake up for
the day around 7am. But, during growth spurt/leaps/bad nights where you have a
lot of gas, you are up every 2 hours. I know it is part of the job but some
nights are just hard. Good thing you are cute.
Anyways, motherhood is such a humbling experience; one full
of dichotomies and both foreseeable and unforeseeable changes. I can’t believe
we are 3 month in already but I am excited (and nervous) to see what the next 3
month will bring.
Love,
Mom
