Busy

Things have been hectic. As I become more and more acclimated to the lab environment, it seems like there is more and more to do. I honestly don't know how people in my lab can work 10+ hours per day, 7 days a week. I get tired after 2 hours in the mouse house. On top of that, I get sick of people too. It's not that I dislike people in my lab. It's just that I am learning being quiet and keeping to yourself is the best way to be...less people bothering you with stuff, asking you questions, and distracting you from what matter...getting your experiments done so you can get the hell out.

In other news, I am super excited to go to Bear lake with friends this weekend and death valley with my MD/PhD class next weekend. I'm a little sad that I'll miss my sister because she will come home president's day weekend but I will make it up to her during spring break because we are going on a trip together.

The only bad thing is that I sprained my ankle pretty bad on Saturday. I was walking to my MCAT class and there was a strong gust of wind. In my hurry to get in doors, I ran, tripped and rolled my right ankle. Needless to say, it hurt a lot but the strange thing is that I thought it was ok since it stopped hurting after 2 minutes. I preceded to walk on it, teach my class, and run around all day. Then, that evening, as I was sitting and writing a rebuttle for our paper, it started to swell and the pain was wretched. I'm been limping the past two days and the pain/swelling still hasn't subsided. In fact, I think it may be worse tonight. I was literally such a wimp that I had my friend drive me 2mins from my work to my car. lol.

I did end the day with a nice dinner. My roommate is prepping for her shelf and I thought it might be nice to try a new recipe and feed her. Unfortunately, dinner was late since I didn't manage to get home until 8:30pm but the quiche/torte I made tasted amazing. Thanks to this recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/pancetta-and-parmesan-torte-recipe/index.html

Here are some Christmas vacation pics!
